Fila was formed in Italy in 1911, making mostly underwear, but became well known after switching focus to shoes and sportswear, and sponsoring tennis ace Bjorn Borg. But they also put their name on mountain bikes - most famously on a bike you could win with Pepsi points, if you just couldn't hold out for the Harrier jumpjet.
Most of the Filas you find in an Internet search are entry-level steel bikes, but this one - the Teton - is clearly more than that. We've got an aluminium frame in the iconic early 90's style of huge tubes and squared-off seatstays. Shimano LX parts mixed between M560 shifters, cranks, and derailleurs, and the previous generation M550 hubs. A Rock Shox Mag 10 - brand new for 1994 - and a threaded Fisher Evolution headset, I believe in the last year it was made.
I feel like the parts here are original, which raises some questions as to the year of this bike. The black Shimano LX group came out in 1993, but the wheels are using the previous generation silver hubs. The Rock Shox Mag 10 debuted in 1994, but it seems like 1993 was the last year for the threaded evolution headset. Some '94 Fishers still ran an Evolution headset, but they were threadless.
So.... It's a 1994 but with a few parts from 1993? This seems plausible for a company that is looking to cash in on the MTB craze, but isn't going to try and compete with the established players like Trek and Specialized.
If you're looking for some 1 1/4" front end parts, let me know.
